# Nosler

## About

Nosler is a family-owned company founded in 1948 in Bend, Oregon by John Amos Nosler. He designed his first bullet after hunting moose in British Columbia in 1946, where the bullets he was using failed to penetrate deeply enough. The Partition and Ballistic Tip are the designs the company is best known for, and it still makes bullets, brass and loaded ammunition alongside its rifles. The M48 bolt-action series covers Heritage, Liberty, Mountain Carbon and Carbon Elite variants, and the M48 Independence is a bolt-action pistol. The later M21 won Field & Stream's Best of the Test and an NRA Golden Bullseye. Chamberings include the proprietary 26, 27, 28 and 30 Nosler cartridges.
