# Tara Defense

## About

The Tara TM-9 is built by the small arms division of TARA Aerospace, a Montenegrin aerospace company, and became available in the United States in 2021. It is a polymer-framed 9x19mm pistol using a locked breech with a tilting barrel and short recoil operation. The trigger is what the company calls the DARE system, short for Double Action Rapid Engagement, which is striker fired but has a double-action pull. The pistol ships with three interchangeable backstraps, a Picatinny rail and 17-round magazines. The catalog lists the TM-9 in black.
