### Features

The semi-auto action cycles quickly and keeps the gun on target between shots. At 6.6 lbs. it's light enough to carry comfortably in the field. The Progressive Comfort system in the stock absorbs recoil rather than transmitting it directly to the shooter, which helps during high-volume clay sessions or a full day of upland hunting. The interchangeable fiber-optic front sight is easy to pick up in poor light. The AA-grade walnut stock is both attractive and durable for field use.

> Benelli's inertia system particularly in a field gun like this is that it's a leaner operating system so there's fewer moving parts which gives you a more slender forend and some better ergonomics.

> It's a 7lb inertia gun has a little more recoil than what you're going to experience from a heavier gun or a gas gun but on these target loads it hasn't been an issue it's shooting very very sweet.

> Rotating bolt does is it allows it basically automatic return to battery if there's any partial movement in the bolt.

> It does an excellent job of mitigating recoil particularly on a gun that's this light.

## What Customers Say

*AI-generated insights from customer reviews*

The Benelli Ethos gets consistent praise for its aesthetics and build quality. The satin walnut stock in particular stands out as a reason people choose it over comparable semi-autos. The gun is light and easy to carry over long outings.

Benelli's inertia-driven system gets credit for reliable cycling and smooth operation. Recoil is often described as noticeably reduced, especially during extended shooting, which shooters attribute to the Progressive Comfort stock system. The adjustable comb is a practical feature that lets different shooters dial in their fit.

Price is the most common concern. The Ethos sits at the upper end of the semi-auto shotgun market, and some buyers weigh whether the premium over simpler gas-operated alternatives is worth it for their use case. Maintenance requirements come up occasionally, with some users noting the inertia system needs to be kept clean to run reliably. Most owners who accept those trade-offs report strong long-term satisfaction.
