### Detailed Features

- **Glock Marksman Barrel (GMB)**: The Gen5 barrel uses a refined rifling profile that improves accuracy over previous G26 generations.

- **Safe Action Trigger System**: Three independent safeties (trigger, firing pin, and drop), that disengage only during the trigger pull. Prevents accidental discharge without a manual safety lever.

- **Ambidextrous Slide Release**: Both sides of the frame have a slide release, which accommodates left-handed shooters and shooters who use a thumbs-forward grip.

- **nDLC Matte Black Finish**: The Diamond-Like Carbon coating on the barrel and slide resists corrosion and wear better than standard finishes, which matters for a gun carried daily in varying conditions.

## What Customers Say

*AI-generated insights from customer reviews*

The G26 Gen5 sits in a well-worn category, small 9mm carry guns, and most discussions reflect that context directly.

Reliability is the first thing people bring up. Glock's track record with the G26 is long, and Gen5 owners report the same consistent feeding, ejection, and function that built that reputation. For a gun that might sit in a holster for months between range visits, that baseline matters.

The compact size works well for concealed carry. The G26 disappears under most cover garments, and the weight at 1.5 lbs. unloaded keeps it comfortable for all-day wear. That said, the short grip is the most common critique. Shooters with larger hands find it cramped, and the pinky-off-the-grip issue comes up regularly. The standard fix is a magazine extension or using G17/G19 magazines with the included adapter.

First-time owners note how straightforward the controls are. Minimal external manipulation points mean less to learn and less to fumble under stress.

The aftermarket for the G26 platform is extensive. Sights, triggers, holsters, and grip extensions are easy to find, and that ecosystem matters to buyers who want to customize over time.

The trigger draws mixed feedback, functionally reliable, but some shooters find the mushy reset less satisfying compared to aftermarket options or competing brands. It's a known characteristic of the stock Glock trigger rather than a defect, and many owners replace it early.

Capacity at 10 rounds is the main practical tradeoff. Shooters who want more rounds in a comparable footprint look at the G43X or G48, though those sacrifice the G26's ability to accept larger Glock magazines.
