## Description

The PTR K3P is a .308 Winchester / 7.62 NATO pistol-format rifle built around a roller delayed blowback action. The 12.5-inch barrel keeps the overall length at 28 inches, making it compact for a full-power cartridge. At 8.7 lbs it is on the heavier side for its size, but that weight helps soak up recoil from the .308.

### Features
The roller delayed blowback action, derived from the HK91/G3 lineage, smooths out the felt recoil impulse compared to direct impingement or straight blowback designs in the same caliber. The wide handguard gives a comfortable support-hand position and leaves room for accessories. Black finish provides basic environmental protection. One 20-round magazine is included.

### Who It's For
The K3P works for shooters who want .308 power in a compact package, whether for close-quarters use, truck-gun duty, or range work. The reduced recoil from the roller-delayed mechanism makes it more approachable than some other .308 PDW-format options. Experienced shooters will appreciate the HK-pattern controls; newer owners should expect a learning curve with the charging handle and mag release.

### Common Uses
- Tactical and close-quarters applications where a full-length rifle is impractical
- Home defense when .308 stopping power is the priority
- Competitive shooting and range use where the roller-delayed action's accuracy and controllability are assets

## What Customers Say

*AI-generated insights from customer reviews*

The PTR K3P .308 PDW pulls in a mix of genuine enthusiasm and measured criticism from owners.

Build quality is the first thing people mention. The roller-delayed blowback mechanism feels solid and runs reliably across most .308 loads. Owners coming from the HK91/G3 tradition recognize the action and trust it.

The 12.5-inch barrel and 28-inch overall length make this genuinely compact for a .308 platform. Owners use it for home defense and truck carry specifically because it handles in tight spaces where a full-length .308 rifle would be awkward.

Accuracy feedback is positive at typical engagement distances, though some shooters note that ammunition selection affects groupings. Heavier, quality .308 loads generally perform better than cheap steel-cased options.

Ergonomics split opinions. The HK-pattern controls are intuitive for anyone with G3 or PTR experience, but shooters coming from AR or AK platforms sometimes need time to adapt. The handguard width is consistently praised for giving a secure support-hand grip.

Customization is a regular topic. Owners mount optics, add muzzle devices, and swap stocks. The platform has a dedicated following with a reasonable aftermarket.

Price discussions reflect the fact that a quality .308 PDW-format rifle is not cheap. Most owners consider the K3P fairly priced for what it is, though some point to competitors at similar price points as alternatives worth considering.

Recoil management gets consistent praise, the roller-delayed system genuinely tames .308 recoil relative to other short-barreled designs in the same caliber, and that shows up repeatedly in owner accounts.
