Reliability is the most consistent praise. It runs a wide variety of ammunition without issue, which is important for a carry gun. The price-to-quality ratio comes up frequently. Owners feel it punches above its cost compared to other pistols in this class. Ergonomics are rated well. The grip is comfortable for most hand sizes and holds up during longer range sessions. On the critical side, the factory trigger gets mixed reviews. Some find it smooth enough; others prefer a lighter pull and shorter reset, and a trigger upgrade is commonly suggested. The factory 3-dot sights work but are not considered a strength, and many owners swap them for aftermarket options. The FDE Cerakote finish is a personal preference item. Some owners like the look; others would prefer standard black. Aftermarket support is good. Holsters and magazines are easy to find given Ruger's market presence. Overall, it is a solid, affordable option for home defense or carry, with the understanding that a trigger or sight upgrade may be worth it depending on intended use. ## Pricing **4 offers available** | Vendor | Price | |--------|-------| | Grabagun Com | $339.99 | | Guns Com | $340.99 | | Impactguns Com | $346.39 | | Buds Gun Shop | $346.49 | ## Similar Products - [Ruger Security-9 Compact 9mm: Reliable Concealed Carry Handgun](https://gunsnation.com/p/ruger-security-9-compact-9mm-reliable-concealed-carry-handgun/UCCy77a2U) - [Ruger Security-9 TALO 9mm Turquoise Grip Semi-Auto Handgun](https://gunsnation.com/p/ruger-security-9-talo-9mm-turquoise-grip-semi-auto-handgun/UCCy77a45) - [Ruger Security-9 Compact: Versatile 9mm Semi-Auto Pistol](https://gunsnation.com/p/ruger-security-9-compact-versatile-9mm-semi-auto-pistol/UCCy77a4C) - [Ruger Security-9 9mm - Compact 15+1 DAO Blued Pistol](https://gunsnation.com/p/ruger-security-9-9mm-compact-15-1-dao-blued-pistol/UCCy77a2N) - [Ruger Security-9 Compact 9mm DAO Pistol - Adjustable Sights, Ergonomic Grip](https://gunsnation.com/p/ruger-security-9-compact-9mm-dao-pistol-adjustable-sights-ergonomic-grip/UCCy77a3i) - [Ruger Security-9 9mm Compact, Cobalt Blue, Ergonomic Defense](https://gunsnation.com/p/ruger-security-9-9mm-compact-cobalt-blue-ergonomic-defense/UCCy77a4a) --- *Data from [GunsNation](https://gunsnation.com)*
