## What Customers Say

*AI-generated insights from customer reviews*

The M&P40 Compact with Lasergrip draws a consistent split in feedback.

Positive: the compact size and light weight for the caliber make it a practical concealed carry option. The grip is ergonomic and comfortable for extended handling. Reliability with different ammunition types is mentioned frequently as a strength. The laser grip is seen as a genuine advantage in low-light scenarios, not just an accessory.

Critical: .40 S&W recoil in a compact frame is snappy, and some shooters find follow-up shots harder to control compared to a 9mm equivalent. 10-round capacity draws criticism from those who prioritize capacity for self-defense. The laser system requires maintenance, battery checks and periodic alignment verification, which some owners find inconvenient.

The overall read is that it's a capable concealed carry and home defense pistol, but buyers should handle one first to assess whether the .40 S&W recoil is manageable for them in this size package.
