### Features

The stainless steel barrel delivers consistent accuracy across a range of loads. Melonite on the slide resists corrosion better than most standard finishes and holds up well to holster wear. The full-size frame gives good control during firing, and the textured grip stays put even with wet or gloved hands. Low-profile carry sights minimize snag on clothing during the draw while still giving a usable sight picture.

At 29.3 oz and 8 inches overall, this is a substantial handgun. The .45 ACP caliber hits hard and recoil is real but not punishing on a frame this size.

## What Customers Say

*AI-generated insights from customer reviews*

Owners of the M&P45 tend to speak well of it, particularly on ergonomics and reliability. The grip shape and texture consistently get positive mentions. It sits comfortably in a wide range of hand sizes and holds steady through follow-up shots. Feeding reliability with different ammunition types is another recurring theme; most owners report no issues across factory and range loads.

Accuracy gets good marks too. For a .45 ACP full-size, shooters find it performs at both close and moderate distances without surprises.

The main friction point is size. At 29.3 oz with an 8-inch overall length, it's on the heavier and longer end for daily carry, and some buyers discovered this only after purchase. Trigger feel also generates some debate. A portion of shooters find the pull heavier than they'd like or wish the reset were shorter, though others consider it fine for defensive use. A small number of long-term owners have noted finish wear with consistent carry use.
