## Description

The Uberti 1849 Pocket is a black-powder percussion revolver in .31 caliber, a reproduction of the Colt 1849 Pocket. It does not fire cartridges: each of its 5 chambers is loaded from the front with loose powder and a lead ball, and fired by a percussion cap on a nipple at the rear of the cylinder. Like the original, it is a single action, so the hammer is cocked by hand before every shot.

> I've had a few cap jams today and I did defang this gun the the issue seems to be the nipples they're just letting too much blowback.

## What Customers Say

*AI-generated insights from customer reviews*

Owners of the Uberti 1849 Pocket generally discuss it with a mix of appreciation for its historical character and honest acknowledgment of its practical limits.

The period-correct styling resonates strongly with collectors and history enthusiasts. The octagonal barrel, engraved cylinder, and blue finish closely mirror the original 1849 designs, and the craftsmanship quality is consistently noted as solid. On the range, most owners report it functions reliably and is reasonably accurate for its intended recreational and cowboy-action use.

The size trips people up. Most buyers who understand it's a historical reproduction go in with the right expectations and are satisfied. It's primarily a collector's piece and range gun that happens to be functional, not a modern defensive tool.
