# Krinkov - Guns For Sale

Krinkov is the American nickname for the Soviet AKS-74U, a short 5.45x39mm carbine adopted in 1979. It has an 8.1-inch barrel, a side-folding stock, a top cover hinged at the front that carries the rear sight, and a muzzle booster with an expansion chamber. Where the name came from is uncertain; the story of a captured Soviet officer called Krinkov has never been confirmed.

Civilian Krinks are short-barreled AK pistols and SBRs that copy some of that layout, in 5.45x39mm, 7.62x39mm or 5.56 NATO. The word gets used loosely for any short AK, so this page also lists the Serbian Zastava M92 and M85 pistols and short Romanian Dracos.
