Hudson Manufacturing was founded in 2015 in Temple, Texas by Cy and Lauren Hudson, and showed the H9 at the 2017 SHOT Show. The H9 was the company's only product, a 9mm pistol built around a low bore axis. By 2018 Hudson was in litigation with a parts supplier over unpaid debts and facing a class action from owners whose pistols had not been returned. The company missed the 2019 SHOT Show and filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy on 14 March 2019. Daniel Defense bought the H9 patents in 2020.
