First Breach Moves Hagerstown Ammunition Plant to Seven-Day Schedule
First Breach said September 30 that its Hagerstown, Maryland, ammunition plant has moved from eight-hour weekday operation to 12-hour operation seven days a week. The revised schedule takes the facility from 40 scheduled manufacturing hours to 84 each week. That is a 110% increase in scheduled time, not a claim that finished-ammunition output has already risen by the same percentage. The company described the change as complete following an initial trial, while calling continuous production a later objective.
From 40 scheduled hours to 84
The plant previously ran one eight-hour operating period Monday through Friday. Its new schedule covers every day of the week for 12 hours per day. First Breach said this is the first phase of a plan to run two 12-hour shifts daily, which would put the operation on a 24-hour schedule. The announcement did not give a start date for the second shift. For now, the concrete change is the move to 84 scheduled hours, rather than the full 168 hours that round-the-clock, seven-day production would represent.
First Breach attributed the decision to positive results from its initial schedule trial, but it did not publish the trial period, production totals, reject rates, staffing levels, or other performance data. That distinction matters because operating time is only one input into output. Equipment uptime, labor coverage, material supply, inspection capacity, and product mix can all affect the number of completed rounds. The release therefore documents substantially greater access to the existing production line without establishing how much additional ammunition has reached customers.
