Remington Ammunition announced on August 25, 2026, that three additions to its Subsonic Rifle line are shipping to dealers nationwide. The new loads cover 360 Buckhammer, 308 Win. and 45-70 Govt., moving the subsonic line beyond its existing 300 Blackout offering. All three are sold in 20-round boxes. Remington published a distinct bullet weight, construction, muzzle velocity, part number and MSRP for each load rather than describing them as one interchangeable family.

Remington says the cartridges are intended to stay below the speed of sound, eliminating the supersonic crack that a suppressor cannot silence. The company also says it uses custom powders and dependable primers to maintain consistent subsonic velocities. Enclosed-base bullets are meant to reduce lead buildup in suppressor ports. Those are manufacturer claims, not independent test findings, and the announcement provides no measured sound data, accuracy groups, terminal test results or firearm-specific cycling results.

Three new configurations

The 360 Buckhammer load, part number 27745, carries a 250-grain bonded hollow-point bullet at a listed 1,030 feet per second and has a $47.99 MSRP. The 308 Win. load, part number 27746, uses a 205-grain hollow point at 1,050 fps and lists for $49.99. The 45-70 Government load, part number 27747, combines a 300-grain bonded hollow point with a listed 1,000 fps muzzle velocity and a $59.99 MSRP. Remington identifies the 360 and 45-70 bullets as bonded, but does not make that claim for the 308 bullet.
