Springfield Offers Standalone Echelon Central Operating Group for $295
Springfield Armory announced a standalone Echelon Central Operating Group on October 20, 2026, at a suggested retail price of $295. The serialized component, previously the operating core of the modular pistol platform, is now offered separately. That gives buyers a starting point for a configured Echelon without first buying a complete pistol. Springfield says purchase of the COG requires transfer through a federal firearms licensee.
The new retail offering is identified as EC9900-RET, with UPC 706397012373. The $295 figure is for the Central Operating Group, not a complete handgun or an advertised package of the other components. Springfield describes completing the pistol with compatible grip modules, slide assemblies, barrels, sights, magazines and accessories. Neither the announcement nor the product page provides a total price for any completed configuration, so the COG's MSRP alone does not establish whether that route costs less than a factory pistol.
The standalone component
The Echelon 9mm Central Operating Group product page lists a weight of 3 ounces, a length of 4.3 inches and a height of 1.9 inches. It identifies the caliber as 9mm and the color as black. Those measurements describe the component being sold, not the dimensions or weight of a finished Echelon. The same specification table identifies the frame requirement as Echelon-compatible and the magazine pattern as Echelon.
