Winchester Ammunition announced on August 19 that its new Super Match competition line is available, with 19 factory loads split across centerfire pistol, centerfire rifle, and 12-gauge shotshell categories. The release identifies seven pistol loads, nine rifle loads, and three shotshell loads. Rather than introducing one cartridge under a new label, Winchester is putting a single competition brand across ammunition intended for action-pistol, dynamic-rifle, precision-rifle, clay, and practical-shotgun uses.

Winchester describes the line as match-grade and competition-ready, but those are manufacturer claims rather than published test results. Kyle Masinelli, the company's vice president of manufacturing, said product engineers worked with competition shooters during development and emphasized accuracy, reliability, and consistency. The announcement does not name those shooters, describe the test protocol, or provide group sizes. It does, however, give product symbols, projectile weights and types, power-factor labels for pistol ammunition, shotshell velocities, and package counts.

Seven centerfire pistol loads

Four of the pistol loads are 9mm: SM9RN115 with a 115-grain round nose, SM9RN124 with a 124-grain round nose, SM9FN115 with a 115-grain flat nose, and SM9FN147 with a 147-grain flat nose. The remaining three are SM40FN180, a 180-grain flat-nose .40 S&W; SM38SFN130, a 130-grain flat-nose .38 Super Auto +P; and SM45RN230, a 230-grain round-nose .45 Auto. Winchester lists 50 rounds per box for every pistol load.
