Buyers of boutique 1911-pattern pistols like the AF1911 Romulus tend to comment on tight machining and a consistent trigger pull, which matters more on a 9mm double-stack 1911 than on a traditional single-stack. The Black DLC coating gets noted for wearing well, though a few owners point out that any high-end coated 1911 needs to be treated carefully during a first strip and clean.

The beavertail grip and ambidextrous controls suit both range and carry use, and the compact frame keeps the gun manageable for a double-stack 9mm 1911, though the grip is noticeably wider than a single-stack pattern for shooters with smaller hands.

On value, this sits well above mainstream 1911 makers given the DLC finish, optic cut, and threaded compensated barrel, and buyers going in expect boutique pricing. Because it follows the 1911 pattern, common holsters and grip parts fit, but the threaded barrel and RMSc cut are specific to this build and narrow the aftermarket for those particular parts.
