The Beretta A400 Xplor Action KO is a 12-gauge semi-automatic shotgun built around Beretta's gas-operated system. The 28-inch barrel has a fiber optic front bead and ships with C, F, and M Optima-Choke HP tubes. The bronze alloy receiver pairs with an oil-finished walnut stock. The fixed Kickoff stock absorbs recoil mechanically rather than through padding alone. Capacity is 4+1 rounds, chamber is 3 inches, weight is 7.80 lbs, and a crossbolt safety is standard.

The Beretta A400 Elite KO generates strong sentiment around build quality, ergonomics, and recoil management. The walnut stock and bronze alloy receiver are praised for fit and finish, and the Kickoff recoil reduction system is the most talked-about feature. Shooters who have handled high-volume shooting days report noticeably less fatigue compared to non-Kickoff shotguns.

Versatility comes up across hunting, clay shooting, and informal range discussions. The Optima-Choke HP system handles pattern customization well, and the semi-auto action with gas operation cycles reliably across standard and heavier loads.

Price is a consistent discussion point. The A400 is positioned above mid-range competitors, and debates about whether the Kickoff system and Beretta quality justify the cost are common. Most owners who accept the price come away satisfied with long-term performance. Maintenance is described as straightforward by experienced semi-auto shooters.
