Detailed Features
The Kick-Off Mega recoil reduction system is the standout feature here. It uses a hydraulic mechanism built into the stock to absorb a significant portion of recoil before it reaches the shooter, noticeably different from standard shotguns when running heavy 3-inch or 3.5-inch loads all day.
The Steelium barrel handles steel shot without issue, which matters for waterfowl hunting where lead is prohibited. Optima-Choke HP system gives you versatile choke options for different shot patterns. Sights are a fiber optic front bead with a mid bead, readable in low-light conditions.
At 7.4 lbs. it's not light, but the weight helps manage recoil on heavy loads.

What Reviewers Say
Quoted verbatim from YouTube reviews. Each link opens the video at the moment quoted.
Little bit of give in it but it's just that soft finish that actually feels really nice up against your face a lot of plastic stocks feel cold and miserable this doesn't.
The trigger safeties I would prefer they be behind I don't like to move my finger forward to come back but it's not too awkward either.
I do prefer the rotating locking bolt on these on just about every modern Beretta.
I think the price tag scared me when I first looked at it but if you take it completely objectively that this gun has every you could ever want on a semi-automatic it's not so bad.
It's relatively good value and I'm always looking for good value you know there's a lot of guns out there that don't represent it and some that do in different ways but this does.
Customers Say
AI-generated insights derived from customer reviews and discussions on popular gun-enthusiast forums.
The A400 Xtreme Plus has a strong reputation among waterfowl hunters. Reliability comes up in nearly every positive review. It cycles a wide range of loads cleanly, from light target shells to heavy 3.5-inch waterfowl rounds, and malfunctions are rare in most owner reports. The semi-auto action makes follow-up shots fast, which is the main reason this model is popular in duck and goose blinds.
The Kick-Off system gets consistent praise. Shooters who run 3-inch and 3.5-inch loads through dozens of rounds in a session report noticeably less fatigue compared to similar shotguns without recoil reduction. People sensitive to recoil particularly appreciate it.
The Realtree Max-5 camo finish is well-regarded for blending into marsh and wetland environments.
The main complaints are about price. It's at the higher end of the semi-auto shotgun market. A minority of users also find it slightly heavier than expected for a field gun, though most accept that as a trade-off for the recoil reduction. Overall sentiment is strongly positive among people who hunt with it regularly.
