The X-Bolt line has a long track record with hunters, and owners of the Medallion SPR variant generally describe the action as smooth and the walnut stock as a step up in fit and finish over Browning's synthetic-stocked models. Reliability across a range of factory ammunition is the most common positive comment.

In the field, the threaded barrel and drilled-and-tapped receiver make the rifle easy to set up with a suppressor or muzzle device and a scope right out of the box. Some owners note the Gloss Blued finish shows scratches more readily than a matte or cerakoted finish, which matters more to shooters who hunt in rough brush.

On value, the Medallion SPR sits in Browning's mid-to-upper tier, and owners tend to feel the walnut stock, trigger, and overall fit justify the step up from Browning's base X-Bolt models. The lack of factory sights is expected on a rifle aimed at scope use, but a few buyers mention it as a tradeoff worth knowing about.
