Detailed Features

• The barrel is threaded 5/8"x24 and ships with a thread protector, ready to accept a muzzle device.
• A tang-mounted safety sits within easy reach of the shooting hand.
• The stock's comb height and length of pull adjust independently, letting a shooter dial in a consistent cheek weld for different optic heights.
• An Inflex recoil pad helps manage felt recoil from the 300 PRC cartridge.
• The stainless receiver is drilled and tapped for scope mounting, and the barrel has a 1:8" twist rate suited to heavier 300 PRC bullets.

Owners of Browning's X-Bolt rifles generally report smooth-cycling bolt actions and consistent extraction that hold up over years of use. The trigger on the X-Bolt 2 usually gets described as breaking cleanly out of the box, and the stainless barrel and action are commonly praised for shrugging off wet or cold hunting conditions without extra maintenance.

The adjustable comb and length of pull on the Special SPR draw frequent comment, since they let shooters of different builds get behind the scope properly without shims or aftermarket stock work. The synthetic stock is light enough to carry on long hunts, though a few owners note that a magnum-class cartridge like 300 PRC benefits from the added heft of a heavier barrel contour.

Browning's X-Bolt line has a mature aftermarket for stocks, triggers, and mounting hardware, so parts and accessories are easy to find. The rifle sits at a premium price point next to entry-level bolt guns, and opinions are mixed on whether the features justify the cost, though most agree the fit and finish match what buyers expect from the Browning name.
