The X-Bolt 2 Speed carries Browning's usual reputation for a smooth, reliable bolt action, and .308 Winchester keeps feeding and extraction straightforward since the round is a known quantity. Owners of the Smoked Bronze Cerakote finish like that it resists wear better than a painted or bare metal barrel.

The adjustable Vari-Tech stock is the feature people talk about most: being able to set comb height and length of pull without buying an aftermarket stock is a real convenience for hunters who share a rifle or have an odd fit. The threaded barrel with a factory brake is a plus for anyone planning to run a can, though a few shooters swap the brake for a different muzzle device.

Feedback on the DLX trigger is mostly positive out of the box, with some preferring to fine-tune the pull weight themselves. .308 Winchester ammunition and reloading components are widely available, which keeps this rifle practical for both hunting and range use.
