The Browning X-Bolt 2 Western Hunter LR is a bolt-action rifle chambered in 6.5 PRC with a 24-inch threaded barrel and an OVIX camouflage finish. It pairs a Vari-Tech adjustable stock with a free-floated barrel and a radial muzzle brake for long-range hunting. The rifle uses Browning's Plus Magazine System for extra cartridge capacity in a sporter-contour build.

Owners of the X-Bolt 2 line generally find Browning's bolt actions run smoothly out of the box, with the action feeling tight and consistent across different loads. The Western Hunter LR trim adds features aimed at longer range shooting, and hunters who spend time in variable terrain like having an adjustable stock they can dial in rather than live with a fixed length of pull.

The OVIX camo finish and Vari-Tech stock draw praise for fitting a range of body types and clothing layers across seasons. Some shooters find the threaded barrel and muzzle brake noticeably reduce felt recoil in 6.5 PRC, though a few mention the brake adds noise at the bench that they only notice with hearing protection off.

On value, the X-Bolt 2 sits in the middle of the bolt-action market. Owners comparing it to more basic hunting rifles usually feel the adjustable stock and muzzle device justify the step up in price, while a smaller group thinks similar adjustable-stock features can be found for less elsewhere.
