Features

The Recoil Hawg muzzle brake reduces felt recoil by up to 76%, which meaningfully changes the shooting experience with a .300 Win Mag. Follow-up shots are faster and fatigue is reduced over a session. The spiral-fluted barrel keeps weight down relative to a comparable non-fluted profile and dissipates heat during sustained fire. The barrel is free-floated and bedded at both ends for consistent harmonics. The three-lever adjustable feather trigger can be set to preference. A Picatinny accessory rail is integrated into the stock, and the short 60-degree bolt lift cycles quickly.

Use

The 7.10 lb weight and 26-inch barrel are calibrated for accuracy at extended ranges while remaining manageable for hunters who cover ground. The .300 Win Mag handles large game at distances where flat trajectory matters. The X-Lock scope mount system eliminates scope movement under recoil from heavy loads.

The Browning X-Bolt Mountain Pro LR Gen 3 .300 Win Mag Burnt Bronze earns solid positive feedback, particularly for build quality and accuracy.

Owners note the materials are well-chosen. The burnt bronze cerakote finish holds up to field conditions and looks intentional rather than decorative. The rifle groups consistently at range, and the adjustable trigger and stock receive positive remarks for allowing personalization.

The weight, while manageable for most hunters, is noted as lighter than some comparable platforms, which is a positive for backcountry use. Recoil with the .300 Win Mag is significant, and some owners appreciate the included muzzle brake while others prefer a different configuration. The price point draws the most pushback, with some buyers comparing it unfavorably to similar-performing rifles at lower cost. Aftermarket accessories specific to this model are more limited than for more common hunting rifles.
