The Century Arms Mosin Nagant M91 attracts two distinct groups: collectors interested in military history and practical shooters drawn to affordable 7.62x54mmR bolt-gun ownership.

Historical appreciation is a consistent thread. The M91 and its descendants served in conflicts across more than a century, and owners who care about provenance find that aspect compelling. The rifle's construction is straightforward, few moving parts, easy to field strip, tolerant of rough conditions.

In terms of shooting, owners report that the 26-inch barrel delivers good velocity from the 7.62x54mmR and that accuracy is reasonable for the platform. The powerful cartridge is effective on large game, and surplus ammunition has historically been affordable, though availability varies.

The weight (8.2 lbs) and length of the M91 draw frequent comment. It is not a lightweight field rifle. The bolt throw is longer than most modern bolt-actions, which slows follow-up shots. Condition on surplus examples varies, and buyers should inspect carefully or purchase from reputable importers. Some users note that quality control can be inconsistent across the pool of surplus rifles.
