What Reviewers Say
Quoted verbatim from YouTube reviews. Each link opens the video at the moment quoted.
Honestly I'm really shocked with the lack of wear I mean for a gun that's been through 5,000 rounds that's I mean it doesn't it's holding up fairly well.
This is holding up remarkably well in my opinion for something that's already been through 5,000 rounds.
They've run there us made stuff but I'm not out here to report anything that didn't happen and honestly I've been pleasantly surprised by the lack of deformation on like the back of the bolt.
A lot of what he said I was pleasantly surprised in my video as well with us well as it did I didn't think was gonna do that well on its it's been okay.
I as I said in my video the parts where it looks better than a lot of fake a's i've seen over the years not just us made ones.
Customers Say
AI-generated insights derived from customer reviews and discussions on popular gun-enthusiast forums.
The VSKA is one of the more discussed budget AK-pattern rifles on the US market, and the conversation reflects that position. Build quality, specifically the Century-produced receivers and the upgraded S7 tool steel components, gets positive attention from owners who tracked the improvements Century made over earlier AK builds.
Reliability is a consistent talking point. Most owners report smooth cycling across different 7.62x39 ammunition, and the rifle's AK-platform dependability is a genuine selling point. The RAK-1 trigger gets specific credit for being noticeably better than the MIL-spec AK trigger it replaces.
Value is another frequent theme. The VSKA sits below the price of imported AK variants while offering what most owners find to be satisfactory performance. The maple wood furniture gets divided opinions. Some like the traditional look, others prefer synthetic for durability.
Accuracy discussions land where most AK-format rifles do: adequate for typical engagement distances, and better with quality ammunition and a mounted optic. The rifle is heavier than some AR-platform alternatives at 8 lbs. Century Arms customer service experiences are mixed across threads, with some owners reporting fast support and others citing delays. Comparisons to other AK variants and the AR-15/SKS platforms are a regular part of the discussion.

This rifle shoots nicely and has a classic look and feel that I enjoy. Durability is another strong point. The main drawback on mine is the wood furniture. There were a few dings, and the front piece has noticeable movement instead of fitting tightly. Optic mounting is also not straightforward, so using something beyond the iron sights means finding an aftermarket solution. Those issues keep it from feeling completely polished, especially when the loose front wood is so easy to notice while handling it. Even so, the actual shooting experience remains good, and the rugged overall character comes through. It is a capable rifle with appealing styling, just not one with flawless furniture or easy factory optic provisions.
