Charter Arms revolvers draw a mixed but generally positive reaction from owners. The Boomer's stainless build feels solid for the price point, and most shooters report it runs without issue, though the fit and finish is usually described as more workmanlike than a premium import revolver, and a few owners mention the trigger pull needing a break-in period before it smooths out.

For carry and field use, the small frame and short barrel make the Boomer easy to conceal, and the ported barrel is frequently credited with taking some of the sting out of shooting .44 Special from such a light gun. Some owners still find the recoil sharp given the size, and the double-action-only trigger takes a bit of practice to shoot accurately at speed.

On value, the Boomer is usually seen as an affordable way into a powerful carry revolver compared to larger-brand competitors, and Charter Arms parts and service are easy enough to find. Aftermarket grip and holster options are more limited than for a Smith & Wesson or Ruger of similar size, which is a common gripe among owners looking to customize the gun.
