Features

The trigger can be pulled double action for a quick shot, or the hammer cocked first for a lighter single-action pull. The 8-round cylinder is a meaningful advantage over the typical 5 or 6 rounds in this size class.

The finger groove rubber grip aids control on a light frame. Fixed front sight with an adjustable rear gives basic precision for field use. Matte stainless resists corrosion without requiring the maintenance of blued steel.

Use Cases

• Small game hunting: .22 WMR has more range and terminal energy than .22 LR, making it a capable squirrel and rabbit cartridge.
• Field carry: The lightweight construction and compact dimensions make it practical to carry as a trail or camp revolver.
• Range practice: Simple revolver mechanics and 8 rounds per cylinder make for an enjoyable shooting experience.

Charter Arms Pathfinder owners in .22 WMR tend to be practical buyers who want a light, affordable rimfire revolver. And most report getting what they expected.

The weight is the first thing users mention. At 24 oz it's easy to carry for extended outdoor trips, which is the primary use case for most buyers. The 8-round cylinder is noted as a positive differentiator in this size class.

Price comes up as a reason people chose it. The Pathfinder is positioned as an accessible .22 WMR revolver, and buyers generally feel the value is reasonable for what Charter Arms delivers.

The option to cock the hammer for a lighter single-action pull is noted as a feature by some buyers. The mechanics are simple and easy to understand.

Critical feedback focuses on a few areas: accuracy at longer distances is described as adequate for close field work but not impressive beyond that, which is consistent with the revolver's purpose. The trigger isn't exceptional, functional but not particularly smooth. Build quality gets mixed reactions; the gun feels solid for the price, but users comparing it to more expensive revolvers notice the difference in finish and feel. Aftermarket accessories are limited. Holster selection for the Pathfinder's specific configuration is narrower than for more common platforms.
