Features

The single-action mechanism requires cocking the hammer before each shot, matching the operation of the Old West originals this design references. Fixed sights keep aiming simple. The antique finish gives it a worn, period look. The .22 LR chambering keeps ammunition costs low and recoil minimal, which suits new shooters and extended practice sessions.

Who It Fits

New shooters learning the fundamentals of single-action operation will find the light recoil and easy handling approachable. Casual range shooters who want a low-cost-to-feed plinking gun in a classic format will get consistent use out of it. Collectors after an inexpensive vintage-styled piece will appreciate the antique finish.

We discovered that this little revolver does not like this herders ammo it does like this winchester super x.

An old design like this has 11 screws in it and i'm telling you right now every one of these screws will come loose.

mixup98

Ejector rod on this this piece right here that kicks out your empty cases look how thin that is that's about a sixteenth of an inch so to me that looks like it could bend very easy.

mixup98

Absolutely love this little guy if you want an inexpensive planker man take a look at this neat little gun.

Quoted verbatim from YouTube reviews. Each link opens the video at the moment quoted.

Owners of the Chiappa 1873-22 generally describe it as a fun, affordable single-action revolver. The vintage styling and antique finish attract buyers who want Old West aesthetics without spending much on ammunition.

Shooting experience gets positive marks overall. The low recoil and light weight make extended range sessions comfortable, and accuracy at typical .22 LR distances is reported as satisfactory. The single-action mechanism is appreciated by those who want the traditional experience, though some users note it feels slower than double-action revolvers for follow-up shots.

Reliability is the main point of contention. A portion of users report misfires or feeding issues with certain ammunition types, so ammo selection matters with this model. Those who find a compatible load generally report consistent function. The six-round capacity is a minor complaint but comes with the single-action territory.
