The Christensen Arms MPR Rimfire is a bolt-action rifle chambered in .17 HMR, wearing a tungsten Cerakote finish. The 16-inch barrel keeps the package compact while the 1-in-9" twist rate suits the .17 HMR cartridge well. At 6.2 lbs it's light enough for long carry days without feeling flimsy.

Detailed Features

The 16-inch barrel hits a practical middle ground, short enough to handle easily in the field, long enough to get the most from .17 HMR ballistics. The adjustable stock lets shooters dial in length of pull, which matters on extended sessions. Threaded at 1/2x28, the barrel accepts standard suppressors, useful for keeping the report down while hunting small game. The sub-MOA guarantee at 50 yards is backed by the factory. Magazine compatibility with Ruger 10/22 mags is a practical bonus given how widely available they are.

Usage Scenarios

The .17 HMR caliber is well-matched to rabbits and squirrels where a flat-shooting, low-recoil cartridge matters more than raw power. On the range it holds up well in precision rimfire formats. Newer shooters benefit from the mild recoil; experienced shooters get the carbon fiber handguard and sub-MOA accuracy they're after.

The Christensen MPR Rimfire in .17 HMR Tungsten draws consistent praise for its build quality and balance. Owners frequently mention how well it handles during long field days, and the tungsten bolt gets positive remarks for its smooth cycling and durability.

Accuracy is the main selling point in most discussions. Shooters report tight groups at range with a range of ammunition, though there's real variation in how different brands perform in this specific chamber. Owners tend to experiment until they find what the rifle likes.

The price is the most common complaint. It's on the higher end for a rimfire, and not everyone finds the cost justified depending on their use case. Aftermarket accessory options are also narrower than for more common platforms, which comes up occasionally.
