Owners of the Cimarron 1892 in 45 Colt are typically drawn to the rifle's combination of period aesthetics and a practical chambering. The 24-inch octagon barrel gives the rifle a distinctive look that cowboy action shooters and Western enthusiasts appreciate, and the 45 Colt cartridge remains easy to handload or source commercially.

The 1892's action is generally praised for smooth cycling, especially compared to the 1873 pattern. The 12-round capacity is a practical advantage for competition use. The walnut stock and case colored frame are well-regarded, though some owners find the finish on the case hardening varies noticeably from rifle to rifle.

Quality consistency is the most common topic in 1892 owner discussions. Most rifles arrive ready to shoot, but a small number require timing adjustments or action work. Customer service opinions on Cimarron are split; some owners report quick resolutions while others describe slower turnaround.
