Cerakote Black finish resists corrosion and handles field use without peeling or wearing through quickly.

Usage

.300 BLK at this barrel length is effective at typical engagement distances for home defense and short-range field use, and the caliber transitions between supersonic and subsonic loads for suppressor use if that's relevant to your setup. At 6.2 lbs it's light enough for extended carry without fatigue. At the range, the muzzle brake and .300 BLK recoil profile make for comfortable sustained shooting.

The CMMG Banshee MK4 .300 BLK 16.1" Gen 4 gets generally positive reviews, with a few recurring practical concerns.

Versatility is the most praised attribute. The .300 BLK platform handles a wide range of applications, and the Banshee's build quality and material choices are consistently called out as strengths. Ergonomics and handling feel comfortable for most shooters, including during longer sessions. Accuracy and recoil management for a .300 Blackout platform are mentioned positively.

On the critical side, price is the most common complaint. Some buyers feel the MK4 is priced higher than comparable options. A few users note the weight feels heavier than expected for a compact-format rifle, which matters for shooters specifically seeking a lightweight option. Accessory compatibility questions come up occasionally, with some users wanting more native mounting or customization options.

Overall, it's well-regarded among .300 BLK enthusiasts who prioritize build quality and reliability over price. Buyers focused on cost-per-feature may want to compare alternatives before deciding.

I could not be happier with this rifle. It has been such an enjoyable addition that my enthusiasm for it remains very high.
