The CVA Scout XP-SB is a single-shot, break-action rifle chambered in 6mm ARC. The 16.5-inch barrel is fluted stainless steel with a matte finish, and its threaded muzzle accepts a suppressor or other device. A graphite black synthetic stock rounds out the build, and a DuraSight one-piece rail sits atop the receiver for mounting an optic; the rifle ships without open sights.

Detailed Features

• The fluted stainless steel barrel is threaded 5/8"x24 to accept a suppressor or other muzzle device.
• A DuraSight one-piece rail is mounted to the receiver, so the rifle is ready for a scope without a separate base.
• The graphite black synthetic stock keeps the rifle light and low maintenance compared to a wood stock.
• The single-shot break-action design keeps the mechanism simple, opening at the top lever to load or unload the chamber.
• No factory open sights are included, so the rifle is intended to be run with an optic.

Single-shot break-actions like the Scout XP-SB tend to earn praise for mechanical simplicity, since there is no magazine or bolt to cause feeding issues. Owners of CVA's Scout line generally find the action opens and closes smoothly and the stainless barrel resists corrosion well. A common complaint with break-action rifles in general is that the single locking point can develop a bit of play over years of heavy use.

The synthetic stock keeps the Scout XP-SB light for a rifle carried on foot, and the break-action opens quickly for a fast reload between shots. Because it holds only one round, shooters treat it more like a specialized platform than a general-purpose hunting rifle. The lack of factory sights means it is really meant to be shot with a scope mounted on the included rail.

Chambered in 6mm ARC, the Scout XP-SB appeals to shooters who want to try the newer cartridge without committing to a full custom build. Owners like that the threaded barrel is ready for a suppressor out of the box. Aftermarket support for single-shot break-action platforms is thinner than for bolt guns or ARs, so some owners stick with factory parts and accessories.
