Owners of the Del-Ton SM316L highlight the Kryptek Magpul furniture as the main draw. The camo pattern on quality Magpul components gives the rifle a distinctive look without the cost of a custom build, and most buyers say the furniture quality alone justifies the price premium over a plain-stock Del-Ton.

The 16-inch threaded barrel and optic-ready Picatinny rail make the SM316L easy to configure out of the box. Accuracy with standard 5.56 ammunition gets decent marks for a mid-tier AR, though some owners note the trigger is average and is a common first upgrade. The manganese phosphate barrel finish is considered durable for field use.

Value perception on the SM316L tends to split. Buyers who focus on the Kryptek Magpul furniture feel they got a deal. Others point out that Del-Ton's fit and finish can be inconsistent, and a few owners report needing to adjust or replace small components out of the box. The optic-ready setup and threaded muzzle are universally appreciated as practical starting points.
