Desert Tech's SRS line has a strong following among long-range shooters who like its compact, chassis-based layout, and owners of the M2 version often mention smoother cycling and better ergonomics compared to earlier SRS rifles. Shooters coming from a traditional rifle layout sometimes need time to adjust to the controls.

The modular chassis lets shooters change barrels and calibers on the same rifle, which precision shooters find useful for one platform that can cover more than one job. The Flat Dark Earth finish and aluminum chassis are generally reported to hold up well to field use.

Cost is the recurring theme in owner discussions, since the rifle sits at the premium end of the precision rifle market and extra barrels or magazines add up. Buyers who value the modularity tend to feel it is worth the money, while others say a fixed-chassis rifle would do the same job for less.
