Detailed Features

The SA/DA mechanism lets you run it double-action for a consistent heavier pull or cock the hammer for a lighter single-action shot when precision matters. The all-steel frame handles .357 Magnum loads without flex, and the blued finish is durable under normal use. Rubber target grips with finger grooves give a secure hold, which matters when managing full-power .357 recoil. Sights are fixed, ramp front and fixed rear, so target acquisition is quick with no adjustment needed or available.

Usage

The Windicator's weight and 4-inch barrel make it better suited for home defense and range sessions than for daily carry. The .357/.38 chambering gives flexibility: lighter .38 Special loads for practice, heavier .357 loads when stopping power is the priority. It also handles outdoor use reasonably well given the steel construction.

Feedback on the EAA Windicator in .357 Magnum is generally positive, with a few recurring concerns.

Owners frequently comment on the solid feel of the all-steel construction and the blued finish, which strikes many as appropriately traditional. The gun is described as sturdy in hand, and that perceived solidity translates to confidence at the range. The .357 Magnum caliber gets credit for its stopping power, and most shooters find the SA/DA operation manageable, though some prefer single-action for more deliberate shots.

On the negative side, the weight comes up regularly: at 30.40 oz it's on the heavier end, which makes extended carry or long range sessions more tiring. A smaller number of buyers have mentioned quality control variability, noting inconsistencies between individual guns. The price is generally seen as fair for what you get, though a few experienced shooters feel that the value proposition only holds up against more expensive revolvers, not budget alternatives.
