The Franklin Armory CA12 is a semi-automatic pistol chambered in .350 Legend with a 12-inch lightweight contour barrel. The black nitride finish covers the aluminum receiver, and the Magpul SL grip in black keeps the overall weight down. There are no iron sights. The slide is optics-ready, so you mount your preferred red dot or scope directly.

Detailed Features

The optics-ready configuration means no baseline sights to work around. Pick your optic and mount it. The 12-inch barrel keeps the package compact, though recoil is more noticeable than you'd get from a longer barrel at the same caliber. The Aura XT muzzle device helps manage muzzle rise on follow-up shots. The black nitride finish resists wear and corrosion without adding meaningful weight.

Usage Scenarios

• Deer hunting at moderate distances, where .350 Legend offers adequate stopping power and the compact format is easy to pack.
• Home defense, where the semi-auto action and 10+1 capacity suit close-range situations.
• Competitive shooting that permits pistol-format rifles, where the optics-ready design lets you swap between configurations quickly.

Owners of the Franklin CA12 generally appreciate the .350 Legend caliber for its flexibility. It works for both hunting and range use, and the recoil is manageable for most shooters. The compact size gets consistent mention as a practical advantage: easy to transport and handle in tight spaces.

The shorter barrel does come up in feedback. Some find recoil noticeably sharper than they expected, particularly during longer range sessions. Accuracy reports vary, with most users getting satisfactory results after properly zeroing their optics. Build quality receives positive remarks overall, though a handful of early owners noted that specific components required attention out of the box. Availability and wait times for the pistol have also come up as frustrations for some buyers.
