The polymer frame reduces weight while the textured grip gives control during firing across different hand sizes. Fixed sights are straightforward and do their job without adding complexity.
At 10+1 capacity in .40 S&W, this version of the G23 is sized for jurisdictions with capacity restrictions or for buyers who prefer the standard compact configuration.
Usage Scenarios:
Home defense and concealed carry are its primary applications. The 4.02-inch barrel and 7.36-inch overall length sit in compact territory, manageable for carry while giving enough sight radius for accurate shooting. Range practice and sport shooting are also practical uses.

What Reviewers Say
Quoted verbatim from YouTube reviews. Each link opens the video at the moment quoted.
I do like it a lot it's very nice very easy to operate the slide release much better than in my generation four and generation five locks put together honestly.
It's great it's not fantastic it's not one of those super sleek super s nice where you know exactly where the safe travel is where you know exactly what it's gonna break.
Generation four and generation five blocks mag release is a little bit better because it's a little bit more area to press it uh but again it's not a big deal.
The best grips are hand stippled yeah they look kind of ugly i have to admit but it's all about functionality.
Don't get anything that for less than four inch barrel it's just you can adapt to it to the recoil.
Customers Say
AI-generated insights derived from customer reviews and discussions on popular gun-enthusiast forums.
The G23 Gen 3 in .40 S&W draws consistent praise for reliability. Owners frequently note it functions without malfunctions across varied ammunition, which builds confidence for defensive use. The compact size is a recurring positive. It's easier to carry than the G22 while offering the same caliber.
The .40 S&W debate persists here too: some value its stopping power while others find the recoil sharper than 9mm, particularly in the compact frame. The trigger pull gets mixed reviews. Some find it good, others would prefer something lighter or more refined. Aftermarket support is broad, covering sights, grips, and trigger upgrades. Maintenance is straightforward, which contributes to the general positive ownership experience.
