The Safe Action system uses three passive safeties (trigger, firing pin, and drop), that disengage in sequence during a normal trigger press. The textured polymer grip handles wet conditions without slipping. Frame and slide materials are standard Glock construction: nDLC-coated steel slide over a glass-fiber-reinforced polymer frame.

Owners of the G29SF generally like what they have but go in with clear expectations about managing 10mm recoil in a subcompact frame.

Reliability is not a common complaint. The pistol cycles a wide range of 10mm loads without drama, which matters since 10mm ammunition varies significantly in power level across manufacturers.

10mm in a subcompact is the main selling point and the main caveat simultaneously.
