The Komrad is a semi-automatic 12-gauge with a pistol-brace configuration designed around compact handling. At 12.5 inches of barrel and 31.5 inches overall, it's one of the shorter shotguns on the market in a legal pistol format.
The Komrad is a semi-automatic 12-gauge with a pistol-brace configuration designed around compact handling. At 12.5 inches of barrel and 31.5 inches overall, it's one of the shorter shotguns on the market in a legal pistol format.
The semi-automatic action lets you run follow-up shots without manually cycling, which matters in close-quarters situations. The SB Tactical SBA3 brace is adjustable and helps with stability and recoil management during rapid fire. The black finish is durable and straightforward.
At 7.85 pounds, the Komrad is on the heavier side for its size, something to factor in if you plan extended carry. The 12.5-inch barrel keeps the package tight but does affect muzzle velocity and pattern compared to longer barrels.
The Komrad gets a mixed but generally positive reception. Its compact size and semi-auto action are the main draws. Home defense buyers in particular like how maneuverable it is in tight spaces.
Users report that it handles a variety of ammunition types reasonably well, from birdshot to slugs. The tactical black look appeals to buyers who want a modern aesthetic.
On the downside, reliability complaints surface with some ammunition types, particularly lighter loads, and a few owners mention that the gun needs a break-in period before it runs cleanly. Weight also comes up. 7.85 pounds feels heavy for such a short package. Price sentiment is mixed: some find it competitive, others think there are better-performing options in the same range. Overall, enthusiasm is real, but reliability questions temper it.
