Description

Key Specifications

Manufacturer: Landor Arms
Product Line: TX-801
Caliber: 12 Gauge
Barrel Length: 21.5"
Action: Lever Action
Barrel Finish: Blued
Stock: Checkered Wood
Capacity: 4 Rounds

Features

The lever action cycles quickly with practice and gives the gun a traditional character that blued steel and checkered wood reinforce. At 21.5 inches the barrel is compact enough for general handling without going so short that it limits versatility. The checkering on the wood stock provides grip texture that holds up during wet conditions.

The blued finish requires more attention than a Cerakote or parkerized surface, it will mark and rust if neglected, but it fits the traditional aesthetic of the gun.

Capacity is 4 rounds, which puts it in line with other hunting-oriented shotguns.

Usage

The TX-801 works for hunting and casual range use. The lever action makes it engaging to shoot and quick to cycle for follow-up shots at closer ranges. Users who want a hunting shotgun with some character will find it more interesting than a standard pump. It is not particularly optimized for competitive shooting or tactical applications.

Owners of the Landor Arms TX-801 tend to like the aesthetics first. The blued steel and checkered wood combination is well-regarded, and the lever-action mechanism adds to the overall appeal for people drawn to traditional-style firearms. The action is described as smooth and enjoyable to operate.

Performance-wise, most users find it handles a variety of ammunition without issue and recoil is described as manageable, which makes it comfortable for extended range sessions.

Common criticisms center on weight during long carry, and a handful of users note that sights or accuracy at longer distances are limiting factors. The TX-801 is generally seen as a close- to mid-range shotgun rather than a longer-range precision tool.

The consensus is that it is a solid choice for someone who wants a lever-action shotgun with traditional styling, not a specialist tool, but a capable and enjoyable one for hunting and range use. Buyers looking for a specific capability (tight patterns at distance, tactical use) should look elsewhere.
