Features

The case-hardened finish gives the frame a mottled color pattern consistent with 19th-century production methods and adds corrosion resistance. Fixed sights keep the sight picture simple and repeatable. At 4.75 inches, the barrel is the classic cavalry length, short enough to draw quickly, long enough for decent accuracy at practical distances.

The .357 Magnum chambering accepts .38 Special as well, which is useful for lower-recoil practice while keeping the same cylinder. Stopping power from full-power .357 loads is substantial for a single-action revolver of this size.

The 1873 US Marshal draws consistent praise for its case-hardened finish and Old West aesthetic. Most owners are happy with the accuracy and reliability, and the ability to shoot .38 Special alongside .357 Magnum gets mentioned often as a practical plus.

On the critical side, some users find the revolver heavier than modern alternatives, which can matter during long range sessions. Quality control is occasionally flagged. A few buyers have noted minor fit and finish issues. These aren't universal complaints, but worth knowing if a flawless first impression matters. Overall the gun is well-regarded among collectors and sport shooters who want an authentic single-action experience.
