Proof Research rifles have a strong reputation for barrel quality, and owners of the Elevation 2.0 line generally report the carbon fiber wrapped barrel holds accuracy well while keeping the rifle noticeably lighter than a steel-barreled equivalent. The Zermatt Arms Origin action draws praise for smooth cycling.

For a mountain or backcountry hunting rifle, the reduced weight is the main selling point owners mention, and the TriggerTech trigger is generally well liked for a crisp, consistent break. Left-handed shooters in particular appreciate that Proof Research offers a true left-hand action rather than a converted right-hand pattern.

The rifle sits at the premium end of the hunting rifle market, and owners weigh that cost against the weight savings and barrel performance. The threaded muzzle is seen as a practical touch for shooters who want to add a muzzle device without gunsmithing.
