The Remington Model 870 Express Youth 20 GA Combo is a pump-action shotgun that ships with two barrels: a 21" vent rib barrel with a Modified Rem Choke for sport shooting, and a 20" fully rifled barrel with rifle sights for deer hunting. The 13" length of pull fits smaller-framed shooters well, and the 20-gauge keeps recoil manageable.

Features

The two-barrel setup covers most of what a youth or smaller-framed hunter would want in a single gun. Swap in the vent rib for clay targets or bird hunting; put the rifled barrel on for deer season. Barrel changes are straightforward.

At roughly 6 lbs, the gun carries easily without fatigue. The synthetic stock handles weather without warping or swelling, and the matte black finish keeps glare down in the field. The two-position crossbolt safety is simple and intuitive for newer shooters learning safe handling habits.

The 870 Express Youth Combo draws strong interest from parents introducing younger or smaller-framed shooters to the sport. The 20-gauge is the main draw here, lighter recoil than a 12-gauge makes it easier to build good habits without flinching, and the 13" LOP fits most youth and smaller adults without modification.

The two-barrel setup gets consistent praise for value. Getting both a sport barrel and a rifled deer barrel in one package means the gun covers multiple seasons without buying a second firearm. Owners regularly cite this as the reason they chose it over single-barrel options.

Reliability and build quality land where you'd expect from the 870 platform, generally solid and durable with regular maintenance. The pump action is easy to learn and hard to mess up, which matters when teaching new shooters.

Aftermarket accessories get mentioned as a plus; stocks, sights, and other upgrades are widely available if an owner wants to grow with the gun.

Safety is a recurring theme in these discussions, as expected given the target demographic, most owners emphasize training and supervision alongside the hardware.
