Detailed Features

The Turkish walnut stock is fitted and finished by hand. The coin anodized silver receiver carries decorative work typical of European double rifles in this class. The flip-up leaf sights allow selection of different range settings, and the orange front bead is visible in low-contrast field conditions. The double trigger is the practical choice for a dangerous game rifle: each barrel fires independently, and the second trigger requires no mechanical reset to function. The ambidextrous grip works for left- or right-handed shooters.

Usage Scenarios

.500 Nitro is a large-bore dangerous game cartridge used primarily for African hunting: elephant, buffalo, and similarly sized animals at close range where a second shot may need to be on target within seconds. The two-round capacity is standard for this class of rifle. It is also collected as a working example of the double rifle tradition.

The Rhino Express in .500 Nitro gets positive responses among the subset of shooters who have experience with double rifles and large-bore calibers.

Craftsmanship is what gets mentioned most. The walnut stock work, receiver finish, and overall fit and finish draw consistent appreciation from owners and observers. The double rifle format carries a long tradition and the Rizzini execution is generally well regarded within that context.

Performance with the .500 Nitro gets positive marks where it matters: stopping power and reliability on dangerous game. Owners familiar with large-bore hunting are satisfied with what the caliber delivers.

Recoil comes up in nearly every discussion. .500 Nitro produces significant recoil, and experienced shooters share notes on technique and stance for managing it. This is expected and not treated as a flaw, but it's worth knowing before purchasing.

Weight and balance draw some commentary. At 9.60 lbs it's substantial to carry, though the weight is also part of what helps manage the recoil. Most double rifle shooters accept this trade-off.

Pricing reflects the handfit construction and caliber class. Owners generally view it as fair for what the rifle is, though the market for .500 Nitro double rifles is narrow by nature.
