This isn't a pistol for the recoil sensitive the width of the grip can make it hard for those without large hands to get a solid handle on the gun.
Even those with large hands will struggle to get a solid grip on the short frame which doesn't really provide enough length to get a full three fingers on the front strap.
These ports certainly add to the concussion from each shot and the expelled gas has interrupted shooters sight picture after squeezing off around but it does aid in managing recoil.
