What Reviewers Say
Quoted verbatim from YouTube reviews. Each link opens the video at the moment quoted.
This has an incredibly good trigger 3.33 pounds that's really nice it's very comfortable it breaks as all 1911 triggers do very clean very comfortable to shoot.
This thing is heavy it's 48.93 pounds it weighs almost as much as my Ruger Super Redhawk and 44 Magnum.
I would feel comfortable using this for self-defense or Woods defense because I know it's going to work every time I pull the trigger.
Some of the components won't be compatible you can't use standard 1911 grips some of the internals on the frame are going to be a little bit different.
If you're a 1911 person and you want to use one for defense but you're worried about capacity this is your gun.
Customers Say
AI-generated insights derived from customer reviews and discussions on popular gun-enthusiast forums.
Rock Island Armory TAC Ultra FS owners are largely attracted by the combination of a full-size Government-length 1911 in .45 ACP at a price point below most domestic competitors. The Parkerized finish gets consistent marks for durability; owners report it handling range use and minor environmental exposure without early wear.
The AOS optic-ready cut is a practical addition that newer buyers appreciate, though some note that optic compatibility depends on the specific mounting footprint and a small number report needing a riser plate to align height-over-bore correctly.
The single-action trigger on the TAC Ultra FS draws measured reviews. Many owners find it acceptable for a production pistol and shoot it without modification. A consistent minority recommends a trigger job or spring kit upgrade early on, citing inconsistent pull weight between individual units.
