Detailed Features
The AccuTrigger is adjustable by the shooter. Pull weight can be tuned to preference, which helps with shot consistency across different conditions. The 1-in-16" twist rate is well-suited to .350 Legend bullet weights commonly used for deer hunting.
At 37.5" overall and 7.1 lbs., this rifle moves easily through dense cover. The 18" barrel keeps the package short without sacrificing meaningful velocity for field distances.
The receiver is drilled and tapped. The included 3-9x40 scope ships pre-mounted, so no additional hardware is required. Integral swivel studs are installed for direct sling attachment.
The .350 Legend produces noticeably less recoil than comparable hunting cartridges, which matters for new shooters and for anyone who runs multiple shots quickly.
Usage
This configuration works well for deer hunting in straight-walled-cartridge jurisdictions, where .350 Legend is legal and widely available. The compact dimensions suit hunters who pack through thick timber, and the light weight reduces fatigue over long carries. On the range, the adjustable trigger and mounted optic allow for accurate practice without immediate upgrades.

What Reviewers Say
Quoted verbatim from YouTube reviews. Each link opens the video at the moment quoted.
This is not a super smooth bold action okay it's okay it works pretty good works fine for the purpose deer hunting is not a volume of fire sport.
I think the bolt issue has been resolved.
The only thing I change about this gun is whenever you rack it in the scope kind of get in the way and I really do not like the scope cover for it either that broke pretty instantly.
The trigger itself is adjustable and doesn't come out too bad from the factory.
350 doesn't dump you too much it's pretty soft shooting cartridge so kids younger shooters shorter statured shooters all that sort of thing it's a really good advantage.
Customers Say
AI-generated insights derived from customer reviews and discussions on popular gun-enthusiast forums.
The Savage Axis 2 Compact XP .350 Legend with scope and AccuTrigger collects a mix of praise and measured criticism.
Accuracy is the most consistent positive. The AccuTrigger contributes to a cleaner break than many rifles in this price class, and the .350 Legend cartridge is accurate enough for practical hunting distances. Many owners report solid groupings right after zeroing.
The compact dimensions get repeated mentions as an advantage, particularly from shorter or younger shooters who find full-length rifles awkward. At 7.1 lbs. with scope, it also carries lighter than most hunting rifles.
Value is a common thread. The combination of an adjustable trigger and a mounted scope in the package price is viewed favorably by budget-minded buyers.
The .350 Legend's recoil is frequently called mild, which makes the rifle accessible for new shooters while remaining capable enough for experienced hunters.
Criticism focuses mainly on build quality. Some users note that materials and fit-and-finish don't match higher-end rifles, though durability complaints are rare. The included scope works for short-to-mid ranges but draws recommendations for an upgrade from anyone shooting past 100-150 yards.
Trigger pull consistency is occasionally flagged. Most units perform well, but a few owners report variation between examples. Aftermarket options are limited compared to more popular platforms.
