The Savage Arms Axis 2 Pro Western in .308 Win is a bolt-action rifle with a 20" compact threaded barrel, Gun Metal Bronze Cerakote finish, and Savage Western Camo stock. The 5/8x24 threaded muzzle accepts common suppressor and brake patterns. At 6.7 lbs and 39.5" overall, it's light enough for all-day carries without the .308 Win's terminal performance taking a back seat.

Detailed Features

The AccuTrigger is adjustable for pull weight, breaking cleanly once set, a notable advantage over the fixed triggers common on entry-level bolt guns. The heavy sporter barrel reduces vibration during the shot cycle, which shows up in tighter groups at longer ranges. The one-piece rail provides a solid, repeatable mounting surface for scopes without separate ring bases to worry about. The threaded muzzle gives options for brakes or suppressors.

Most discussion around the Savage Axis 2 Pro Western .308 Camo centers on accuracy and value. Buyers routinely report solid groups right out of the box, crediting the AccuTrigger and heavy barrel profile. At its price point, it's regularly described as offering more than buyers expect.

The lightweight build (6.7 lbs) and camo finish are appreciated by hunters who carry the rifle in the field. Aftermarket upgrade potential also comes up. The drilled and tapped receiver and threaded barrel make it straightforward to add optics or muzzle devices.

Critical feedback covers a few recurring points: some buyers find build quality on components like the stock or magazine feels less refined than on pricier rifles. The AccuTrigger takes some time to adjust correctly for shooters unfamiliar with the system. Recoil, while normal for the .308 caliber in a lighter rifle, is occasionally noted as more than some shooters anticipated.
