The Savage Arms Axis 2 XP is a bolt-action rifle chambered in .22-250, aimed at hunters and sport shooters who want a capable package without overspending. The green synthetic stock keeps weight down at 7.7 lbs., and the matte black finish handles weather without fuss.
The AccuTrigger lets you dial in pull weight to your preference, which is genuinely useful rather than a gimmick. The detachable box magazine holds four rounds and drops free cleanly for quick reloads. Integral swivel studs mean you can run a sling straight out of the box.
The included 3-9x40 scope is adequate for most hunting distances and gets you shooting without a separate optics budget. The .22-250 caliber is well suited to varmint and small-to-medium game, with a flat enough trajectory to reach out to practical hunting ranges.
It's a really nice stock I like this vertical grip and it's way sturdier at the front it's not that flimsy like the original Savage A's.
The trigger is breaking around 3 lbs uh probably change that later.
Federal is taking the cake right now but those work fine as well.

Owners of the Axis 2 XP in .22-250 generally come away satisfied, particularly given the price. The rifle tends to group well out of the box, and the .22-250 caliber draws consistent praise for flat trajectory and versatility across varmint hunting and target work.
The included scope is a common discussion point. Beginners find it adequate, while more experienced shooters often swap it for a better optic fairly quickly. The AccuTrigger and smooth bolt action are regularly called out as highlights. Some users note the stock feels basic relative to pricier models, and a handful have found the factory trigger pull heavier than they'd like before adjustment. Overall the rifle's performance-to-price ratio is what keeps the conversation positive.
