The Savage Arms Axis 2 XP in .243 Win with green synthetic stock is a bolt-action package rifle that includes a pre-mounted, bore-sighted 3-9x40 scope. The green stock distinguishes it visually from the standard gray variant while using the same underlying Axis 2 XP platform.
The AccuTrigger is user-adjustable for pull weight, useful for new shooters who want a lighter pull than the factory default, or for anyone fine-tuning for consistency. The detachable box magazine holds 4 rounds with 1 in the chamber, and the integral swivel studs allow sling or bipod attachment without drilling.
The green synthetic stock and matte black barrel are a practical combination, weather-resistant without needing maintenance. At 7.7 lbs. and 42.5" overall, the rifle is stable at a bench but is on the heavier end for extended field carries.
The .243 Win caliber works from varmints to deer-sized game with manageable recoil, making it a reasonable choice for newer shooters and younger hunters. The 3-9x40 scope covers most hunting distances without additional investment. The 1-in-9.25" twist stabilizes a wide range of .243 bullet weights.
Owners of the Savage Axis 2 XP in .243 Win consistently highlight the included scope as the strongest value argument. The package cuts the total cost of getting a ready-to-shoot rifle in the field compared to buying optics separately.
Accuracy draws repeated positive comments. At common hunting distances the rifle performs well without modifications. The lightweight build and smooth bolt action are both mentioned positively, as is portability during longer outings.
Criticisms follow a predictable pattern for entry-level bolt-actions: the synthetic stock feels less refined than wood or higher-end composites, and the included scope is suitable for beginners but prompts upgrades from more experienced shooters. The consensus is that this is a strong entry-level option with predictable trade-offs at its price.
